Warm Greetings from your alma mater !! As we step into February 2024, I am sure you are all filled with optimism about the onset of spring and the receding of the harsh winter. Personally, I wish to share with you a sense of gratitude and pride for the collective achievements and contributions that continue to define the legacy of our esteemed Institute. The dawn of February brings with it not just the passage of time but an opportunity to celebrate the ongoing spirit and accomplishments of our alma mater.

 

As always, January was a busy month for the Dean ACR office.

 

On January 26, 2024, we celebrated the 75th Republic Day of our great nation and embraced the rich history that unites us all. IIT Bombay not just honoured the spirit of our democratic republic but also highlighted the outstanding achievements of our alumni community with the announcements of the Distinguished Alumnus/ Alumna Awards (DAA) and the Young Alumnus/ Alumna Achiever Awards. We also commemorated the 55th Anniversary Reunion of the Class of 1969 which is a testament to the enduring bonds forged at our alma mater. I am pleased to inform you that the Institute celebrated a very joyous reunion with our alumni community in Hyderabad in January 2024. The event provided a platform for meaningful interactions as we engaged with our distinguished alumni, and apprised them of the latest initiatives and developments at the Institute. It was a gratifying occasion, fostering a sense of camaraderie and shared commitment to the continued success of our alma mater. Please look for a Special Report for more details on the event.

 

I am delighted that our ambitious Project Evergreen is marching ahead very well. Furthermore, we also the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Hostel 4 on campus. This is a definitive step towards enhancing our residential facilities and fostering a conducive and enriching living environment for our students. Do you remember the epic vibes and infectious energy of Mood Indigo, Asia’s largest youth festival at IITB? Those were some unforgettable moments that made our time here truly legendary, wasn’t it? It gives me great pleasure to take you on a trip down memory lane and present a special report on Mood Indigo 2024 which showcases the creative prowess and dynamism of our students. This iconic event is woven into the fabric of our alma mater and we have continued to build upon the legacy that you left behind. Immerse yourself in the captivating tales of cultural exuberance, artistic brilliance, and the indomitable spirit that marked this extraordinary event and made this edition of Mood Indigo truly exceptional.

 

IIT Bombay teamed up with the Aptos Foundation for the Aptos Winter School to foster the rise of the next wave of tech enthusiasts and developers across the country. Look for a Special Report on the same in the newsletter.
