Contributions to IIT Bombay by corporates qualifies under mandatory CSR obligation of companies. The abstract from the Schedule VII of the section 135 of the companies act is given below –

(b) Contributions to public funded Universities; Indian Institute of Technology (IITs); National Laboratories and autonomous bodies established under Department of Atomic Energy (DAE); Department of Biotechnology (DBT); Department of Science and Technology (DST); Department of Pharmaceuticals; Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH); Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and other bodies, namely Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO); Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR); Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), engaged in conducting research in science, technology, engineering and medicine aimed at promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)]

Yes. IIT Bombay is exempted from all the provisions of FCRA.

Yes, IIT Bombay provides CSR donation receipt, 10 BE certificate as well as any other document required to fulfill CSR compliances. Further, you may reach out to – corporateconnect@iitbacr.com for any other documents required.

The process of donation has 4 simple steps –

• Select the cause for the donation
• Interact with the Corporate Engagement team which will facilitate interaction with other stakeholders of IIT Bombay (as applicable based on the selected cause)
• Signing of Agreement/ Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

Funds released to IIT Bombay as per the agreed terms of the agreement/ MoU
