IIT Bombay, an ‘Institute of Eminence’ is ranked 118th in the QS World University Rankings 2025, 45th in Engineering and Technology by Subject, and is ranked No. 1 in India. Strategic partnerships between the corporates and the Institute have resulted in 130 cutting edge collaborations, spread over 175 diverse projects. These have resulted in the setting up of 24 COEs/ hubs/ labs. The outcomes of these projects are aligned with the 16 SDGs.
IIT Bombay seeks to collaborate with corporate partners to advance R&D endeavours through government-mandated CSR funding and corporate philanthropy. Investing in these initiatives will allow the Institute to nurture critical R&D domains vital to India’s strategic interest and much more.

Activities which may be included by companies in their Corporate Social Responsibility Policies Activities relating to:
7[(ix) (a) Contribution to incubators or research and development projects in the field of science, technology, engineering and medicine, funded by Central Government or State Government or Public Sector Undertaking or any agency of the Central Government or State Government; and
(b) Contributions to public funded Universities; Indian Institute of Technology (IITs); National Laboratories and autonomous bodies established under Department of Atomic Energy (DAE); Department of Biotechnology (DBT); Department of Science and Technology (DST); Department of Pharmaceuticals; Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH); Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and other bodies, namely Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO); Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR); Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), engaged in conducting research in science, technology, engineering and medicine aimed at promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)]
