Snapshots of Nostalgia: Cherished Moments from Recent IIT Bombay Alumni Reunions

Reunions are a time to relive the golden days, rekindle old friendships, and revisit the cherished corners of our alma mater. At IIT Bombay, these gatherings celebrate the indomitable bond shared by our alumni that was forged in classrooms, hostels, and canteens.

Below, we share a collection of images and videos that capture the joy, laughter, and nostalgia from recent alumni reunions, showcasing heartfelt moments of camaraderie and the timeless connection that alumni feel to their vibrant campus.

DJRU – Class of 1963

The Class of 1963 was the second batch of students who graduated from IIT Bombay. More than sixty years after they first set foot on campus, nine esteemed members of the batch returned to their alma mater and walked its corridors once more, reminiscing about friendships, reliving cherished memories, and witnessing how the Institute has evolved. The Class of 1963 celebrated their Diamond Jubilee Reunion, a milestone that reflects not just the passage of time but the unbreakable bond they share with IIT Bombay. And their journey back was a testament to the lifelong connection that IIT Bombay fosters, and the Institute was deeply honoured to welcome them home.

Among those who reunited for this special occasion were:

–  Mr. Anant Gokhale (B.Tech., Civil Engineering, 1963)
–  Mr. Lalit Kanodia (B.Tech., Mechanical Engineering, 1963)
–  Dr. Avinash D. Kulkarni (B.Tech., Metallurgical Engineering & Materials Science, 1963)
–  Mr. RHG Rau (B.Tech., Metallurgical Engineering & Materials Science, 1963)

–  Dr. Dhirendranath N. Buragohain (M.Tech., Civil Engineering, 1963)

Each of them has left an indelible mark on both their fields and their alma mater. IIT Bombay is profoundly grateful for their ongoing affection and legacy, which continue to inspire generations to come.
