PROJECT EVERGREEN COMPLETION CEREMONY

A Legacy in Brick, Bond, and Belief

On a bright, hope-filled day, the IIT Bombay community came together to mark a remarkable milestone—the completion of Project Evergreen. More than a construction effort, this was a testament to the power of alumni commitment, collaboration, and care. What began as a vision has now taken the form of three state-of-the-art hostels, H7, H8, and H21, built entirely through alumni support and driven by alumni leadership.

From spirited speeches and heartfelt reunions to quiet moments of reflection and joy, the day was filled with images that spoke louder than words. These photographs capture the essence of a celebration many years in the making—a day that honoured not only the buildings, but the people who made them possible.

A MESSAGE FROM THE CORE TEAM

The core Evergreen team – Mr. Kirat Patel, Mr. Raj Mashruwala, Ms. Zenobia Driver, and Mr. Narayan Sundaresan—shared a heartfelt update to IIT Bombay’s alumni community on the project’s progress, a short film capturing the celebrations, and an earnest appeal to help bridge the final leg of funding.

Dear Folks:

We missed you at the unveiling ceremony of Project Evergreen (H7, H8 & H21) on the 26th April, 2025.

We had around 350 donors and their relatives, vendors, and IIT staff who attended and visited the site. We have prepared a short film of the function and repository of memories of the day for you to visit, browse.

Here’s the link to the short film: Project Evergreen Short Film

As you might have noticed, we are not completely done. As far as the construction goes, a few things are still pending, and we hope to complete the hostels and the facilities and have them ready for occupation by mid-June 2025.

On the funding front, we estimate that the complex will cost us around Rs 195 Crore, and we will have raised funds of around Rs 175 Crore by the end of May 2025. We are short of around 10% of the target.

We appeal to you to kindly see if you can add to your donations by a bit more to help us meet our promise to IIT Bombay.

Thank you for the support.

 Regards,
Kirat Patel, Raj Mashruwala, Zenobia Driver, Narayan Sundaresan

Built by Alumni, Built for the Future

As the sun set on the celebration, what remained was not just the sight of new hostels, but the feeling of something far greater. Project Evergreen has given IIT Bombay a model of what alumni action can look like when rooted in purpose.

This pictorial tribute stands as a reminder that when the past reaches out to build the future, a campus grows stronger, not just in infrastructure but in spirit.

Here’s to the alumni who dreamed boldly, acted generously, and built a legacy that generations of students will now call home.
