IIT Bombay Students Lead the Way in Sustainability with Project Vivaan and Autodesk Collaboration

It was a proud moment for Team SHUNYA, IIT Bombay, as they celebrated a significant achievement with Project Vivaan.

During a recent visit to the campus, the team had the privilege of introducing this innovative project to Mr. Andrew Anagnost, CEO of Autodesk, as part of a major collaboration that was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

This partnership represents a significant step toward equipping students with advanced skills, nurturing innovation, and strengthening the vital connection between academia and industry. Together, the collaboration is helping to contribute to India’s vision of a #ViksitBharat.

Competing in the Solar Decathlon Build Challenge 2023 in Colorado, USA, it secured an impressive 2nd place globally for its exceptional design. Focused on sustainable, solar-powered housing, Project Vivaan is setting the stage for affordable and eco-friendly living solutions.

IIT Bombay’s Roshan Keshari Wins India Pharma Award 2024 for Groundbreaking Psoriasis Research

Mr. Roshan Keshari, a PhD student in the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, IIT Bombay, has been awarded the India Pharma Award 2024 for Outstanding Contribution to Pharmaceutical Research by Academic Institutes. This prestigious honour recognizes his groundbreaking project, “Phytonanogel Shield: Precision Care for Psoriasis Patients,” which aims to provide innovative therapeutic solutions for psoriasis.

Mr. Roshan’s achievement is a testament to the guidance and mentorship of his supervisors, Prof. Rohit Srivastava and Prof. Shamik Sen, whose expertise and support have been instrumental in this project’s success. The award ceremony, held in New Delhi, highlights the significant impact of his research in advancing healthcare solutions.

IIT Bombay Shines at iGEM Grand Jamboree 2024 with Gold Medal and Climate Crisis Nomination

IIT Bombay’s iGEM team has achieved a remarkable feat at the iGEM Grand Jamboree 2024, earning a prestigious gold medal for their outstanding work in synthetic biology. The International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition is a renowned global platform where students and young researchers collaborate to develop innovative, biology-based, solutions to address real-world challenges.

IIT Bombay’s team was also honoured with a nomination for the Best Climate Crisis Project, a testament to their exceptional contributions in sustainability. This success reflects their dedication and ingenuity in tackling pressing global issues through science and innovation.

IIT Bombay Students Shine at Sakura Science Exchange in Japan

Students from IIT Bombay successfully participated in the prestigious Sakura Science Exchange Program 2024, organized by the Japan Science and Technology (JST) Agency in Kyoto, Japan. The programme aims to foster stronger academic and research collaborations between Indian and Japanese institutions, enhancing scientific and technological exchanges.

They also explored leading companies such as HORIBA Ltd. and cultural landmarks, including the Kitano Tenmangu Shrine and Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion).

The experience provided IITB’s students with invaluable insights into Japan’s advanced research and innovation landscape while enriching their understanding of the country’s cultural heritage. This trip marked a significant step toward strengthening global collaborations and fostering future academic and technological partnerships.
