IIT Bombay Hosts India Nuclear Energy Forum (INEF) 2026

IIT Bombay hosted the India Nuclear Energy Forum (INEF) 2026, which brought together approximately 350 participants from more than 180 organisations across India, Denmark, France, Japan, Singapore, the UK, and the USA. The forum served as a national platform for policymakers, industry leaders, regulators, researchers, startups, and international experts to discuss strategies for accelerating India’s nuclear energy programme and achieving the national target of 100 GWe nuclear power capacity by 2047. 

Jointly organised by the Department of Energy Science and Engineering (DESE), IIT Bombay, the Research Hub for Green Energy and Sustainability (GESH IIT Bombay), ProSIM R&D Pvt. Ltd., and the India Energy Network, the forum served as a national platform for dialogue on nuclear energy development in the post-SHANTI Bill era.

IIT Bombay Hosts Industry Day Novel Alternative Models (NAMs) in Drug Discovery

IIT Bombay hosted Industry Day on Novel Alternative Models (NAMs) in Drug Discovery on campus. The event brought together researchers, industry leaders, startups, CROs, and regulators to explore the future of next-generation drug discovery. It featured presentations by IIT Bombay faculty spanning single-cell analytics, AI-driven discovery, droplet microfluidics, organoids, and organ-on-chip systems, followed by extensive discussions, poster sessions, and lab visits.

IIT Bombay’s Office of International Relations Participates in Several International Events

Kazakhstan – St. PetersburgJapan

KAZAKHSTAN: The Office of International Relations, IIT Bombay, participated in the Asian Universities Alliance (AUA) Summit 2026, hosted by Nazarbayev University in Astana, Kazakhstan. The Summit brought together university leaders, researchers, and policymakers from leading Asian institutions to discuss the future of higher education, governance innovation, industry engagement, and regional collaboration.

ST. PETERSBURG, RUSSIA: The Office of International Relations, IIT Bombay, participated in the HSE University St. Petersburg International Partners’ Week (IPW) 2026 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, to strengthen international partnerships and explore new avenues for academic and research collaboration. The flagship event brought together more than 100 delegates from over 45 universities across 20 countries, providing a vibrant platform for global academic dialogue, internationalisation, academic mobility, artificial intelligence, and emerging models of university collaboration. 

JAPAN: As part of IIT Bombay’s continued efforts to strengthen academic and research collaborations with Japan, Prof. Sudarshan Kumar Vatsyayan, Dean, International Relations, and Prof. P. Seshu, Professor-in-Charge of the IIT Bombay–Japan Collaboration Cell, undertook an official visit to Japan. The visit focused on expanding IIT Bombay’s engagement with leading Japanese universities and research organisations in light of the growing opportunities for student mobility, research partnerships, and fellowship programmes between the two countries.
