The second edition of IInvenTiv 2024 unfolded at IIT Hyderabad and drew participants from various IITs and beyond, including NIT, IISER, IIITs, among others. Amid a considerable influx of entries, IIT Bombay stood out as all five technologies submitted by the Institute were accepted for display at the Fair. The showcased technologies encompassed a diverse range including:
- Surya Shakti – Offering clean heating solutions for air and water, presented by Prof. C. Subramaniam from the Department of Chemistry and Prof. Sandip Saha from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, focused on the theme of Defense and Aerospace.
- Development of an Indigenous Anti-Hail Gun – A groundbreaking initiative by Prof. Sudarshan Kumar from the Department of Aerospace Engineering, emphasizing the theme of Agriculture.
- Handheld Pulsed Eddy Current Probe (iPEC) – Developed by Prof. Siddharth Tallur from the Department of Electrical Engineering, this innovative tool allows for non-invasive profiling of steel rebars embedded in RCC structures, aligning with the theme of Industry 4.0.
- Metal Hydride-based Hydrogen Storage Systems and Solutions – Presented by Prof. Pratibha Sharma from the Department of Energy Science & Engineering, this technology falls under the theme of Sustainable Technologies, encompassing clean energy, climate change, e-mobility, and more.
- Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell (CAR-T) Therapy – Prof. Rahul Purwar from the Department of Biosciences & Bioengineering showcased this revolutionary cancer cure technology, contributing to the theme of Affordable Healthcare.
This impressive array of technologies underscores IIT Bombay’s commitment to innovation across diverse fields, addressing crucial challenges and paving the way for a sustainable and technologically advanced future.
