IIT Bombay celebrated World Environment Day today with a series of cleanliness drives coordinated by the Dean IPS office, Estate Office, Public Health Office, NSS, Abhyudaya, and Team Shunya on campus.
Students from Kendriya Vidyalaya participated in a nature walk, during which the Public Health Officer engaged with them, and emphasized the importance of environmental preservation. Additionally, a zero-food waste initiative was implemented in the hostel messes, and a door-to-door awareness campaign was conducted.
The Institute also organised a talk to raise awareness about the critical importance of environmental conservation and promoting sustainable practices. The speaker, Dr. Sanat Kumar Saha, spoke about “Energy Security and Environmental Protection: An Indian Perspective.”
As always, and through a series of collaborative efforts and proactive engagement, IIT Bombay continues to set a commendable example in championing environmental stewardship on World Environment Day and beyond.
