IIT Bombay celebrated the 11th  International Day of Yoga with a series of thoughtfully curated events, reinforcing its commitment to the holistic well-being of its community.

On June 20, campus residents were introduced to the transformative practices of heartfulness meditation and yogic relaxation techniques. This flagship event, organized by Yogastha, IIT Bombay, was held in collaboration with My Bharat and the Commonwealth Youth Council of India.

Over 200 participants, including faculty, officers, staff, and students, attended the deeply engaging session. Prof. S.V. Kulkarni, former Dean (AA), and Mr. Ganesh Bhorkade, Registrar, graced the occasion.

The session was led by Dr. Nivedita Shreyans, a heartfulness trainer, who emphasized, “In a world driven by speed and intellect, it is the stillness of the heart that brings true strength.” After an hour-long interactive and guided meditation session, Dr. Shreyans remarked on the joy of seeing India’s brightest minds pause and reconnect with themselves.

Representatives from the Commonwealth Youth Council encouraged students to integrate heartfulness into their daily lives.

On June 21, IIT Bombay marked International Yoga Day with a vibrant celebration on campus. Mr. Dinesh Ghodke (International Wellness Expert, Former Director of Art of Living – Youth Programme, and IITB alumnus) was the Chief Guest. The event was attended by around 200 people, including:

The celebrations extended beyond the campus community, as students and teachers of KG School, Campus School, and PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT Powai also marked the day with yoga sessions at their respective schools.

Mr. Ghodke also delivered a special talk titled “The Inner Startup: Yogic tools for mental resilience and emotional mastery,” covering:
