The Sustainable Infrastructure Modelling (SiM) Group of the Department of Civil Engineering at IIT Bombay, in association with Deakin University- Australia, University of Sydney- Australia and IIT Delhi organised a one-day workshop on the topic “Decarbonisation of Built Environment-Advancements through Digital and Simulation Tools” on campus.
Over 100 participants including many from the industry attended the workshop which consisted of expert talks, hands-on sessions, poster presentation competitions, and demo sessions. Some of the key highlights of the workshop included:
- Prof. Olubukola ‘Bukky’ Tokede from Deakin University delivered an overview of LCA concepts and the exciting projects done at Deakin University.
- Prof. Ann Francis, Ph.D. led a hands-on session on life cycle analysis.
- Prof. Anastasia Globa delivered a highly interesting session on digital construction management for sustainable building operations.
Attendees were also able to learn the basic concepts and practical aspects of life cycle analysis, digital construction management, and sustainability assessment.
The workshop exemplifies IIT Bombay’s commitment to driving progress in sustainable infrastructure and highlights its role as a catalyst for interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in the field. This initiative not only enhanced the understanding of life cycle analysis and digital construction management but also underscored IIT Bombay’s dedication to advancing sustainable practices and innovations in the built environment.
