IIT Bombay’s Department of Civil Engineering successfully completed a One-Day International Workshop on “Conservation of Heritage Structures” hosted under the IoE-funded SCPP project on campus.
The event, organized by Prof. Swathy Manohar, brought together a diverse and interdisciplinary group of students, researchers, engineers, architects, conservationists, and industry practitioners, all united by a common goal: the preservation of historical constructions. Eminent speakers at the event included:

- Prof. Enrico Sassoni, University of Bologna
- Prof. Arun Menon, IIT Madras
- Prof. Vaibhav Singhal, IIT Patna
- Prof. Jigna Desai, CEPT University
This workshop also fostered valuable discussions on varied topics such as Material Characterization, Structural Monitoring, Structural analysis of masonry, Architectural Conservation, Protective Measures, and more. In addition, a poster presentation competition was also organized as part of the event in different themes. The day was filled with thought-provoking lectures, insightful case studies, and meaningful conversations about the future of heritage conservation.
