IIT Bombay hosted the Bipartisan US Congressional Delegation on campus. Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri, Director, IIT Bombay, along with several Institute dignitaries welcomed the delegation which comprised the following members:
- Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), Democratic Co-Chair
- Rep. Deborah Ross (D-NC)
- Mr. Geo Saba, Chief of Staff, Rep. Ro Khanna
- Mr. Thomas Boodry, Legislative Director, Rep. Mike Waltz
- Mr. Karthik Iyer, First Secretary at the Embassy of India, Washington DC
- Dr. Vikram Krishnamoorthy, Deputy Secretary (AMS), MEA
Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri said, “Over the years, IIT Bombay has forged excellent academic and research collaborations with US universities. Under the proposed iCET initiative jointly announced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and the Hon’ble President of the USA, we expect the collaboration to attain greater momentum. The visit of the US Congressional delegation, I am sure, will further add to our journey.”
IIT Bombay’s dignitaries apprised the delegation of the Institute’s cutting-edge and pioneering R&D activities while IIT Bombay’s undergraduate students demonstrated Matsya – an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) developed by them, which won the very prestigious IEEE YRP Award 2020.
