IIT Bombay’s Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science, along with the Office of International Relations, jointly organized a two-day faculty research workshop with the University of Tsukuba, Japan.
The workshop focused on Materials Innovation and Healthcare and brought together over 30 experts from both institutions for intensive discussions and knowledge exchange. The event featured two parallel thematic sessions covering a range of cutting-edge topics—from thermoelectric devices, atomic layer deposition techniques, and hydrogen storage to AI-powered medical imaging and wearable biosensors. In addition to technical presentations, the workshop included poster sessions, lab visits, and a panel discussion on student exchange and future collaboration.

Other events included a cultural dinner on Day 1 that celebrated Indo-Japanese camaraderie beyond the laboratory, while Day 2 concluded with strategic discussions and a roadmap for deepening the partnership.
This initiative not only facilitated meaningful research collaborations but also reaffirmed the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing global innovation through sustained academic engagement.
