IIT Bombay continues to invest in infrastructure that not only meets the growing needs of its academic community but also reflects the Institute’s vision for a more connected, inclusive, and future-ready campus.
Efficiency Apartments
The Institute recently celebrated the ground-breaking of its new Efficiency Apartments project—an ambitious housing initiative designed to support both faculty and research scholars. Once completed, the development will offer 120 two-bedroom flats for faculty members (Wing A) and 309 single-room units for married research scholars (Wing B), with a total built-up area of 46,700 square metres. Located behind the QIP Quarters, near the Udaygiri Building on Hillside, this project was envisioned by the Dean IPS office and is a step towards enhancing residential facilities for IIT Bombay’s vibrant academic community.

New Recruitment & Promotion Unit Office
In another infrastructure milestone, IIT Bombay inaugurated the newly renovated office of its Recruitment & Promotion Unit. The new space is expected to streamline and strengthen institutional processes related to faculty and staff hiring and career advancement.

The inauguration was led by Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay. Other dignitaries who joined him include:
