A Legacy of Excellence: Prof. Jindal Shah’s Outstanding Contributions to Academia

Prepare to be inspired as Prof. Jindal Shah (B.Tech., Chemical Engineering in 1996), has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to excellence in academia!

Prof. Shah’s dedication to graduate-level education in Chemical Engineering earned him the esteemed Outstanding Graduate Faculty Award for the academic year 2023-24 by the School of Chemical Engineering Graduate Student Association, Oklahoma State University (OSU). The award honours him for his “Outstanding commitment to Graduate Level Courses in Chemical Engineering.”

His commitment to excellence has been consistently recognized, as evidenced by his winning the Excellent Faculty Award from the College of Engineering Architecture and Technology at OSU in 2023. This prestigious award, bestowed in the post-tenure category, commended Prof. Shah’s overall excellence as a faculty member, highlighting his teaching prowess, scholarly achievements, research productivity, collegiality, contributions to professional societies, and engagement with students.

He currently serves as an Associate Professor and holds the prestigious Anadarko Petroleum Chair at OSU. He is also the Graduate Program Director and an Associate Editor at Frontiers in Chemistry, Molecular Liquids.

Prof. Shah’s academic journey extends beyond his undergraduate studies at IIT Bombay. He pursued his passion further by obtaining an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1999 and later achieving a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 2005. Throughout his career, Prof. Shah has delved into various research domains, with a primary focus on Monte Carlo and Molecular Dynamics Simulations, Phase Equilibria, Ionic Liquids, and Dye-sensitized Solar Cells.

Prof. Jindal Shah’s journey from his formative years at IIT Bombay to his current standing as a distinguished academician and researcher underscores the profound impact of IITB alumni in shaping the landscape of global academia and scientific innovation.
