Class of 1966
IITB’s Class of 1966 Pledge Support to Tinkerers’ Lab / Financial Aid Programme for Students

The Class of 1966 at IIT Bombay has pledged approximately Rs. 3 crores towards its Diamond Jubilee Legacy Project, supporting key initiatives such as the Tinkerers’ Lab and the Financial Aid Programme for students. This contribution builds on their earlier Golden Jubilee support for the Tinkerers’ Lab, as well as their continued commitment to Project Evergreen and student scholarships.
With eight Distinguished Alumni Awardees among them, the batch’s impact extends well beyond their student years, reflecting a legacy of excellence and engagement with the Institute.
Returning to campus for their Diamond Jubilee Reunion, sixty years on, the Class of 1966 brought with them the same camaraderie and conviction that first defined them. Their visit was marked by renewed friendships and a quiet pride in being among IIT Bombay’s pioneer batches—an enduring reminder of a journey that continues to inspire generations.

Class of 1999
IITB’s Class of 1999 Pledge Support to Infrastructural Legacy, Student Flourishing Hub, and other Key Institute Initiatives

In December 2024, the Class of 1999 gathered for their Silver Jubilee celebration, and formalised an MoU that pledged to shape the Institute’s next era. The MoU was signed by Batch Representative Mr. Amit Garg and Prof. Upendra Bhandarkar, Dean ACR, in the presence of fellow alumni Mr. Mahesh Kumar and Prof. Prakriti Tayalia.
Their contribution will power the Infrastructural Legacy, the Student Flourishing Hub (which has completed a year and has already impacted more than 3,700 students), and academic excellence initiatives, including the Retired Faculty Wellness Fund, the Young Faculty Fellowship, the Financial Aid Programme, and the Benevolence Fund.

As the second batch to support the Flourishing Hub, IIT Bombay, the Class of 1999 is also honouring the memory of their late batchmates through named facilities in Project Evergreen. Their legacy will continue to grow beyond these causes, with plans to support additional initiatives in the years to come.
