Prof. C.N.R. Rao Distinguished Lecture Series

Prof. J.N. Moorthy

How can molecules be programmed to engineer materials with desired properties?

IIT Bombay welcomed Prof. J. N. Moorthy, Professor, Department of Chemistry, IIT Kanpur, and Director, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram, to the Prof. C. N. R. Rao Distinguished Lecture Series. Speaking to a packed audience, Prof. Moorthy explained how bulk organic materials can be tailored by tuning three key molecular attributes: structure, intrinsic functionality, and organisation.

Later during the lecture, he paid homage to Prof. C. N. R. Rao, recipient of the country’s highest honour in 2014, the Bharat Ratna, and reflected on his interactions with one of the foremost figures in Indian science.

Mrs. Sarla Doshi Memorial Lecture Series

Mr. Anubhav Saxena

IIT Bombay hosted the Mrs. Sarla Doshi Memorial Lecture Series on campus and welcomed Mr. Anubhav Saxena, Chief R&D Officer at Pidilite Industries Limited. In his lecture, Mr. Saxena explored how innovation moves from concept to real-world impact. Drawing on his decades of experience, he shared case studies and practical approaches to applying the Design Thinking methodology for understanding user needs while aligning technical feasibility with market realities.
