The Hostel Celebration Day 2025 marked a historic milestone for IIT Bombay, bringing together the largest-ever alumni gathering on campus. For the first time, alumni from three hostels, Hostels 4, 6, and 9, came together to celebrate their shared hostel spirit. 550+ alumni spanning batches from 1967 to 2025 returned to campus, reaffirming the enduring bonds forged through hostel life across generations.

The celebration offered deeply meaningful experiences for alumni across the three hostels. Alumni of Hostel 4 had the opportunity to be the very first occupants of the newly constructed hostel, marking a new chapter in its history. For Hostels 6 and 9, many alumni stayed in the very rooms they had lived in during their student years, revisiting familiar spaces and reliving memories from their time on campus.

The gathering also served as a moment of transition and renewal. During the reunion, the new design for Hostel 9 was officially revealed, offering alumni a glimpse into the hostel’s future. Together, these moments captured the essence of hostel life at IIT Bombay—a sense of belonging, continuity, and shared identity that remains strong even as the campus evolves.
