Inauguration of the ‘Brijraj Chandra Mansingh Chemical Instrumentation Laboratory
IIT Bombay is set to inaugurate the ‘Brijraj Chandra Mansingh Chemical Instrumentation Laboratory’ on November 7, 2022. Established with the generous contribution from IIT Bombay’s alumnus, Mr. Sanjay Mansingh (B. Tech, Electrical Engineering, 1992), the ‘Brijraj Chandra Mansingh Chemical Instrumentation Laboratory’ is a state-of-the-art facility housed in the Department of Chemistry on campus.
The lab has been set up in memory of Mr. Sanjay’s father, Shri Brijraj Chandra Mansingh, and will provide the latest and advanced equipment to undergraduate students pursuing innovative and cutting-edge research projects under the guidance of the Chemistry Department’s faculty. This modern facility will be accessible to all students and researchers of the Institute through an online booking portal and will also cater to more than 1,000 B. Tech., 200 BS/MSc., and 350 Ph.D. students. In addition, this Lab will aid the Chemistry Department’s efforts to upgrade its research infrastructure with new hardware. The Lab will play an instrumental role in the Chemistry Department’s mission to ensure high-quality training of students in the best practices of this discipline and help push the frontiers of our understanding of Chemical Sciences.
