IIT Bombay, in collaboration with the IIT Bombay Alumni Association Bengaluru Chapter, will be hosting an interactive session in November for its alumni members who are based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The occasion will be graced by Dr. K. Sivan, Former Chairman of ISRO and Secretary, Department of Space, who will be presenting a keynote speech at the gathering.
Alumni will be able to meet with Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri, Director, IIT Bombay, and hear about the several critical programs and initiatives being undertaken at the Institute. The sustained support from IIT Bombay’s alumni community has been instrumental in making the Institute one of the world’s best Engineering and technology institutes.

IIT Bombay is set to inaugurate the ‘Brijraj Chandra Mansingh Chemical Instrumentation Laboratory’ on November 7, 2022. Established with the generous contribution from IIT Bombay’s alumnus, Mr. Sanjay Mansingh (B. Tech, Electrical Engineering, 1992), the ‘Brijraj Chandra Mansingh Chemical Instrumentation Laboratory’ is a state-of-the-art facility housed in the Department of Chemistry on campus.
The lab has been set up in memory of Mr. Sanjay’s father, Shri Brijraj Chandra Mansingh, and will provide the latest and advanced equipment to undergraduate students pursuing innovative and cutting-edge research projects under the guidance of the Chemistry Department’s faculty. This modern facility will be accessible to all students and researchers of the Institute through an online booking portal and will also cater to more than 1,000 B. Tech., 200 BS/MSc., and 350 Ph.D. students. In addition, this Lab will aid the Chemistry Department’s efforts to upgrade its research infrastructure with new hardware. The Lab will play an instrumental role in the Chemistry Department’s mission to ensure high-quality training of students in the best practices of this discipline and help push the frontiers of our understanding of Chemical Sciences.
IIT Bombay will launch its first-ever Digital Trust Lab, named the ‘IIT Bombay Trust Lab’ on September 15, 2022. This Lab has been set up through the generous donation of IITB alumnus, Dr. Shridhar Shukla, who has generously contributed Rs. 29 Cr. towards this initiative.
As digital experiences rapidly become an integral part of our lives, security, privacy, population-scale access and usability, citizen empowerment, etc., become fundamental enablers for a safe and prosperous society and nation. Towards that goal, IIT Bombay is setting up the IITB Trust Lab as a timely and far-reaching initiative so that the Institute takes the lead in the vast area of digital trust and supports nation-building.
IIT Bombay will celebrate the 40th reunion of the Class of 1983 in January 2023. It has been almost
40 years since the Class of 1983 graduated, and 45 years since they first met on campus. Despite
living on different continents and having widely divergent lives and careers – IITB’s alumni still share
bonds that have endured for 45 years. And continue to endure. So, rekindle and relive your five

IIT Bombay will celebrate the Golden Jubilee Reunion of the Class of 1970 in January 2023.
Since the 1970 Golden Jubilee Reunion should have taken place in 2020, the pandemic played
spoilsport to the event. But IIT Bombay and IIT Bombay Alumni Association resolved to hold an in-
person reunion for the 1970 batch, even if it happened three years later. So, please come back to
your alma mater during this milestone occasion and relive your glorious memories from the past
with your fellow alums.

The Deepak and Maya Satwalekar Lab has been set up through the generous contribution of our Distinguished Alumnus, Mr. Deepak Satwalekar [B.Tech. (Hons)., Mechanical Engineering, 1971)]. This first-of-its-kind initiative at the Institute will train students to combat and overcome challenges found in real-world industrial setups, through a multidisciplinary course. This Lab forms an essential part of the Institute’s larger Makerspace program that envisions providing a comprehensive education to students through exposure to hands-on learning that will complement and strengthen theoretical concepts. This critical project will provide a boost to the Institute’s endeavour of revamping its entire curriculum, in line with the National Education Policy that stresses the importance of experiential-based learning.
IIT Bombay will celebrate the Golden Jubilee Reunion Class of 1971 between December 16 – December 18, 2022. The class of 1971 will return to campus and relive their glorious student days, take in the myriad changes on campus, and renew their friendships with old and new batchmates and current members of the IIT Bombay community.
