IIT Bombay commemorated the birth anniversary of Shri Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister, by celebrating National Education Day on November 11, 2025.

Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar, Former Chairman, University Grants Commission (UGC), graced the event as the Chief Guest. Several Institute functionaries were present at the occasion, including Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director; Prof. Milind Atrey, Deputy Director (Academics, Research and Translation); Prof. Ravindra Gudi, Deputy Director (Finance, Infrastructure and Administration); Deans, faculty, staff members, and students.

As part of the event, distinguished faculty members were honoured for their outstanding research contributions across diverse disciplines through the Institute Research Awards 2024. They included:
