IIT Bombay Partners with Vertiv to Advance Cooling Strategies for
AI-Powered Data Centres

IIT Bombay signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vertiv to partner on a strategic collaboration aimed at advancing cooling solutions for AI-driven computing workloads in data centres, an increasingly critical area as India accelerates its digital and technological progress.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay, and Mr. Subhasis Majumdar, Vertiv India, and reinforced a shared commitment to advancing India’s technological capabilities in line with the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ vision.

IIT Bombay Signs License Agreement with Ainwesha Engineering for
Debris-Removal Technology

IIT Bombay and Ainwesha Engineering & Project Ltd. signed a License Agreement for the commercialization and deployment of IIT Bombay’s technology, “A System To Remove Floating Debris In Open Water Channels”. The agreement was signed by Prof. Sachin C Patwardhan, Dean (R&D), IIT Bombay, and Mr. Ram Khubchandani, Director, Ainwesha Engineering & Project Ltd.
Prof. V. Jothiprakash, Department of Civil Engineering, with his team, has developed the system for removing floating debris in an open water channel. This innovation will address the significant problem of floating debris in open water channels that severely disrupts water flow, harms aquatic ecosystems, and poses economic as well as public health challenges.
