IIT Bombay is playing a key role in a pioneering project to combat climate change through carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technology. In collaboration with Eco Carbon Engineering Solutions Ltd. (a Ramky Group company) and international partners, the Institute is helping evaluate the feasibility of CCUS at Visakha Pharmacity, a major industrial hub near Visakhapatnam.

This initiative aligns with India’s ambitious goal of becoming carbon-neutral by 2070, with IIT Bombay’s expertise contributing to the nation’s sustainability efforts. The project aims to assess the technical, environmental, and economic viability of CCUS solutions, paving the way for large-scale implementation across India.

As the world continues to face the growing challenge of global warming, IIT Bombay’s involvement in this cutting-edge initiative highlights its commitment to addressing critical environmental issues through innovative research and collaboration. Such partnerships are not only essential for driving innovation but also for ensuring a sustainable future, reinforcing IIT Bombay’s commitment to addressing global environmental challenges while empowering the next generation of leaders.
