Sustaining a Tradition of Excellence
Established in 2007, the Young Faculty Fellowship (YFF), formerly known as Young Faculty Award (YFA) upholds IIT Bombay’s legacy of academic excellence and mentorship. It enables promising young academics to conduct innovative research, guide emerging leaders, and tackle contemporary challenges. This initiative, originating from the Class of 1982, focuses on recruiting exceptional young faculty, with fellowships granted since 2010.
By connecting academic pursuits with industry needs, YFF attracts international talent, strengthening IIT Bombay’s global standing through committed faculty excellence.

A Young Faculty Fellowship supports this vision by bolstering the institute’s academic programs, enhancing research, and reinforcing the intellectual ecosystem through the support of promising young educators and researchers. We are thankful to the Alumni batches from ’78, ’79, ’81, ’83-’85, ’88-’90, ’92, ’94-’99 who have supported this program.

Revision Terms
– Base INR Value: The base INR values for each Fellowship product will be reviewed annually basis the fee circular which is released in the month of July.
– Forex Value: The conversion rate for each Fellowship category will be reviewed and updated annually on April 1st. This conversion rate will be determined based on the average FOREX rate from January to March, of each fiscal year (April 1st – March 31st).
