After graduating from IIT Bombay, Prof. Chinya Ravishankar worked for several years as a Systems Programmer at the Computer Center of the institute. He holds the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.\He served on the faculty of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, between 1986 and 1999. Since then, he has been a Professor of Computer Science at the University of California, Riverside, where he also serves as Associate Dean in the Bourns College of Engineering at UC Riverside. His research interests are in the areas of Databases, Networking, Distributed Systems, and Security. Prof. Ravishankar is an active member of the IIT-B Faculty-Alumni Network.
