Prof. Pratim Biswas has served as Washington University’s ambassador to IIT Bombay and has developed many funded collaborative programmes. Projects such as Indo-US Funded Centre on Nanoparticle Aerosol Science and Technology; Interfacing Processes Controlling Lead Mobility in Environmental Systems, (2008); and Life Cycles of Metals in Coal Combustion (2009-12) are but a few to mention. He continues to actively interact with colleagues at IIT Bombay and develop collaborative programmes in the fields of energy and environment. Prof. Biswas has contributed outstandingly to the fields of energy, environment, and aerosol science and technology. As Director of the McDonnell Academy Global Energy and Environmental Partnership (MAGEEP), a partnership of 26 premier universities from around the world, including IIT Bombay, Prof. Biswas has created energy and environment programmes throughout the globe, specifically with IT Bombay. Prof. Biswas is an internationally renowned aerosol scientist and has won numerous accolades and awards for his contributions to the field.
After graduating from IIT Bombay, Prof. Biswas obtained a Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology in 1985, and ever since he has been in academia.
