Mr. Ravindra Gupta received his M.Sc. degree from the Department of Chemistry, IIT Bombay. Later, he joined IPS.
Mr. Gupta has had a distinguished career in administration in the entertainment industry. In-mid eighties he resigned from the Police Service to become the General Manager and then, shortly after, the Managing Director of the National Films Development Corporation. With the advent of satellite television, Doordarshan needed to improve the quality of its content and NFDC, under Mr. Gupta, stepped in to use this opportunity to bring good cinema to the masses. In the late nineties he founded the TV Channel B4U. He is currently the CEO of Mukta Arts Ltd. He also heads the Whistling Woods International, Asia’s largest Film, TV, Animation and Media Arts Institute based in the Film City. He is currently advising the Government of India on setting up an entertainment promotion council, to be named as ‘Entertainment Export Promotion Council of India’. He is also involved in PAN-IIT alumni activities and is a member of its Advisory Board. He has held Board positions in companies worldwide and has been on the government media advisory committees and on film industry bodies.
Mr. Gupta has demonstrated his innovative and entrepreneurial skills in an industry that is highly competitive and challenging.
