He then received his M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering in 1997 from the Institute. His focus back then was high-speed networks and he tinkered with Linux to build IIT Bombay’s first alumni website.

Mr. Soy’s career in software engineering began with his Microsoft interview in 1997, where he showcased the same website he built for the IIT Bombay Alumni Association, and secured his first job. He has actively participated in hackathons, winning the 2024 Spring Hackathon with an innovative project. Balancing his career and personal life, he took a year off for caregiving and now proudly supports his two children as a single parent. His journey reflects his passion, resilience, and commitment to growth and excellence.

Recalling his cherished memories from his time on campus, Mr. Soy says, “It has to be the hostel life, the late nights in the labs writing code and trying to be curious about how to engineer the next big technology!”

His hobbies include moonlighting as a DJ and pursuing Hindustani music in which he is proficient.
