Mr. Jignesh Patel is the Founder and Managing Partner of Charioteer Capital LLC, which invests in commercial real estate opportunities. He completed his B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay in 1992, Master of Science (MS) in Industrial Management from Purdue University in 1993, and Chartered Financial Analyst (C.F.A) programme in 1998.

After his graduation from IIT Bombay, Mr. Patel was the Vice President at Nomura Securities from 1997-2000, Managing Director at Bear Stearns from 2001-2008, Executive Director at JP Morgan Chase from June 2008- March 2009, Director and Portfolio Manager at National Australia Bank from July 2009 to April 2012, and Senior Managing Director at C-III Capital Partners from May 2012 to Jan 2018.

Five years back, Mr. Patel left behind his extraordinary stint in the corporate world and formed his own investing platform ‘Charioteer Capital LLC.’

Mr. Patel fondly remembers the social aspects of his life at IIT Bombay including the endless ‘cack sessions’ in the hostel, hanging out with classmates on and off campus, Mood Indigo, and rock concerts.

Referring to his avid hobby of travelling he says, “I would like to see most of the world during my time on this planet.”

An ardent alumnus who has held several positions in alumni organisations, Mr. Patel recalls, “I started as the first treasurer of the IIT Bombay alumni body in the Greater New York area in 2002. After a break for a few years to focus on a young family, I returned to being a volunteer for the chapter in 2011. I served as president of the Greater New York chapter of IIT Bombay Heritage Foundation (IITBHF) from 2017 to 2020. I also co-led our class of 1992 legacy project for IIT Bombay. I have been on the board of IITBHF for the past 4 years.”
