He has 42 years of teaching and training experience in aviation including Ground Instructor for pilots, Ground Instructor for Cabin crew, Ground Instructor for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.
Mr. Deokule fondly remembers the excellent facilities at IIT Bombay for academic pursuit.
Speaking about contributions made by Mr. B. G. Deokule for his Chapter, the Outgoing Chapter President Mr. Praveen Malla says, “B. G. Deokule is one of the founding members of the Chapter. He, along with couple of alumni, drove the idea of forming IITBAA Hyderabad Chapter in 2002 that culminated in inaugural meeting on October 16, 2002 addressed by then IIT Bombay Director Prof. Ashok Mishra”.
Mr. Deokule served as the Treasurer from 2002 to 2006. He strove hard to unearth alumni in the city overcoming lack of organised alumni database and inadequate communication facilities. He took initiative to organise several monthly alumni programs – talks on wide ranging topics by alumni, nostalgic get together, etc. – during the nascent years of the Chapter which boosted alumni interest and raised Chapter membership. The Chapter owes its existence and growth to Mr. Deokule’s yeoman efforts. We are indebted to him for laying the foundation for the Chapter and for building it brick by brick,” Mr. Malla added.
His hobbies include classical music (sitar), chess, table tennis, carrom, sketching, painting, etc.
