Gajanan Vithal Gandhe
B.Tech., Civil Engineering, 1986

Mr. Gajanan Vithal Gandhe is the India Country Head and Vice-President of Dana Corporation. After his B.Tech. in Civil Engineering in 1986 from IIT Bombay, he earned his MS in Engineering Mechanics from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, USA. He then received his MBA in Finance and International Economics from Oakland University, Michigan, and has completed an Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Mr. Gandhe has been highly successful in managing businesses in the USA, China, and India and scaling them up to large regional organizations, as well as establishing several engineering centres and manufacturing facilities all over Asia for the automotive industry. Over the years, he has received multiple customer awards from global Mr. Gandhe was steadfast in his belief in the India growth story. And after spending 14 years in the USA and 5 years in China, he returned home to be a part of India’s growth story as a contributor.

As an active alumnus of IIT Bombay, he has been heavily involved in the activities of SINE as an Advisory Board Member. He has been reviewing and supporting startups for grants through SINE as well as Dana and other companies. He also been individually advising many startups in scaling up their ideas and getting grants. He has been instrumental in working with IIT Bombay to help set up the E-Mobility Centre of Excellence.

Speaking about his memories associated with his alma mater he says, “Being involved in the hostel mess coordination and department activities helped me become an effective General Manager in the true sense of the word. I helped organize the FEICOM International Conference with Prof Tarun Kant in 1985 which was a great experience with over 150 global professors attending. I am presently involved with SINE and several startup activities.”

His hobbies include traveling, hiking and trekking, playing field hockey, and singing.
