Dr. Dileep Bhandarkar is recognised for his outstanding contributions in research and management in the Computer Systems Industry.

As Director (June 1997 onwards), System Architecture, Workstation Products Division, Business Platforms Group with Intel Corporation he is responsible for defining workstation platform direction, long term product planning and system performance analysis. Dr. Bhandarkar was earlier Director, Systems Performance Analysis and Architecture, Microprocessor Products Group of Intel.

Dr. Bhandarkar is a MS, Ph.D. from Carnegie- Mellon and has also done graduate courses in finance and organisational behaviour. His previous professional experience was with Digital Equipment Corporation as Principal Engineer, Manager and Technical Director and prior to that with Texas Instruments.

Dr. Bhandarkar has 15 patents to his credit and has published numerous papers in refereed journals as well as in proceedings of important conferences. He is the author of a book titled “Alpha Implementations and Architecture : Complete Reference & Guide”. He has been programme committee member of several IEEE Computer Society conferences General and Chair, ACM ASPLOS ’98.
