Mr. Ashok Kamath is currently Chairman of the Akshara Foundation, a public-private partnership, whose motto is ‘Every Child in School and Learning Well’. He is also a Trustee of Pratham Books – a public charitable trust – that publishes low-cost, high-quality books for children in multiple Indian languages.
Mr. Kamath has served on the Board of Directors of the IITB Alumni Association and been active in organizing Kal Aaj aur Kal, the concluding event of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of IIT Bombay in Bangalore, and Triple E Reunion in Goa.
Immediately after obtaining his M.Sc. from IIT Bombay, Mr. Ashok Kamath joined Analog Devices Inc., a Boston-based manufacturer of integrated circuits. Later he set up the Analog Devices India, and retired as its Managing Director in March 2004. Ever since, his focus has been on social initiatives.
