Mr. Badami says, his getting Internet literate helped him to revive the alumni activities in Mumbai, and of the IIT Bombay Alumni Mumbai Monthly Meet, or simply the IITB-MMM. This has ensured that they meet every month maintaining the interest levels about their alma mater. This is perhaps the major contribution that he has made to the Institute.nn

Mr. Ashok Kamath is currently Chairman of the Akshara Foundation, a public-private partnership, whose motto is ‘Every Child in School and Learning Well’. He is also a Trustee of Pratham Books – a public charitable trust – that publishes low-cost, high-quality books for children in multiple Indian languages.nnImmediately after obtaining his M.Sc. from IIT Bombay, Mr. Ashok Kamath joined Analog Devices Inc., a Boston-based manufacturer of integrated circuits. Later he set up the Analog Devices India, and retired as its Managing Director in March 2004. Ever since, his focus has been on social initiatives.
