Anand Garde

Hearty congratulations to IITB alumnus, Mr. Anand Garde (B.Tech., Metallurgical Engineering & Materials Sciences, 1967), for receiving the H.R. Russ Ogden Award and an Award of Appreciation from ASTM International!
Commenting on this accolade, Mr. Garde said, “I want to share the good news and my sense of achievement with my IIT Bombay classmates, where my zirconium profession and passion for ASTM Zirconium Symposia started in the 1960s. When I announced my retirement from the ASTM B10 committees (chair of both the Kroll Medal Selection International Committee and Zirconium International Symposia Organization committee) at the committee meeting in Atlanta on November 12, after 40 years of volunteer service, the committee surprised me with the attached two awards.”
This honour marks an important milestone in a distinguished international career spanning decades of contributions to the fields of nuclear zirconium and metallurgical science.
ASTM International has issued a press release highlighting Mr. Garde’s achievements and professional journey. We are pleased to share the official release below:
