IIT Bombay’s Distinguished Alumnus, Dr. Shridhar Shukla (B.Tech., Electrical Engineering, 1983), recently received yet another accolade in his illustrious life. He was inducted into the NC (North Carolina) State ECE Alumni Hall of Fame.

Dr. Prakash Chand Jain
IIT Bombay is delighted that its alumnus, Dr. P.C. Jain (PhD, Civil Engineering, 2009), Outstanding Scientist at DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India, has been elected Fellow of the ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers), one of the highest global honours in Mechanical Engineering.

IITB Alumni Shine at IACMAG 2025 Awards
The International Association for Computer Methods and Advances in Geomechanics (IACMAG), USA, annually honours outstanding global contributions in geomechanics. This year, three IIT Bombay Civil Engineering PhD alumni have been recognized with the 2025 awards:
- Prof. Kaustav Chatterjee (PhD, Civil Engineering, 2016), Associate Professor at IIT Roorkee, received the Excellent Contributions (Regional) Award – 2025.
- Prof. Ashutosh Kumar (PhD, Civil Engineering, 2018), Assistant Professor at IIT Mandi, received the Excellent Paper Award – 2025.
- Prof. Chaidul Chaudhuri (PhD, Civil Engineering, 2023), Assistant Professor at IIT Bhubaneswar, received the John Carter Award – 2025, which is equivalent to a Best PhD Thesis award in the domain of Geomechanics.All three completed their doctoral research under the supervision of IIT Bombay’s very own, Prof. Deepankar Choudhury. Each of them had previously received IIT Bombay’s Excellence in PhD Thesis Award, now affirmed through these prestigious international recognitions.
