IITB Alumnus Takes the Helm at Oman India Joint Investment Fund

IITB alumnus, Mr. Satish Chavva (B.Tech., Mechanical Engineering, 1993), has been appointed as the new CEO of the Oman India Joint Investment Fund (OIJIF). He brings over two decades of private equity experience to his new position. Before his appointment, Mr. Chavva held significant roles at British International Investment (BII) and Citigroup, where he contributed to investments across various sectors and geographies. At OIJIF, he previously served as Director of Investments from 2016 to 2022, playing a crucial role in shaping the fund’s investment strategies.
With a track record of driving value creation and innovation, Mr. Chavva is set to lead the next phase of strategic growth for the fund, which recently launched its third fund, focusing on diverse sectors such as consumer goods, healthcare, and technology.

IIT Bombay alumnus Harsh Maheshwari (B.Tech., Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science, 2013), now a Staff Manufacturing Engineer at Tesla, is driving key innovations in electric vehicle battery technology. With two landmark patents to his name, he has significantly enhanced the performance, safety, and cost-efficiency of EV batteries. His work at QuantumScape on lithium-stuffed garnet electrolytes and transparent separators laid the groundwork for transformative advances, while at Tesla, he has been instrumental in scaling the 4680 battery cells that power the company’s best-selling EVs. His contributions not only push the boundaries of battery performance but also reflect India’s growing influence in global clean energy advancement.
