IIT Bombay is at the forefront of India’s ambitious effort to decarbonise the cement industry. As one of five national Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) testbeds announced by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), the Institute is partnering with Dalmia Cement to develop a catalyst-driven CO₂ capture process, installed directly at a cement plant. This initiative is part of a pioneering Public-Private Partnership model aimed at deploying real-world, scalable solutions in hard-to-abate sectors.
