A Note of Gratitude and Looking Ahead

Prof. Upendra V. Bhandarkar, Dean ACR

Dear alumni and friends,

As I begin my tenure as Dean of Alumni and Corporate Relations, I would like to take a moment to express my deep appreciation for both the responsibility entrusted to me and the vibrant, passionate community I now have the privilege of serving. I’m excited to build on the incredible momentum established by my predecessor, Prof. Ravindra Gudi, whose thoughtful leadership over the past three and a half years has left a lasting impact on this office and our alumni relations as a whole.

Prof. Ravindra Gudi

Through his time as Dean ACR, Prof. Gudi nurtured relationships, launched new initiatives, and inspired a culture of giving that touched every corner of our alumni network. I have long admired his ability to connect with people with sincerity, clarity, and deep conviction. On behalf of the Institute and our office, I thank him for his invaluable service and wish him the very best in his future endeavours. His legacy will remain an integral part of our journey forward.

To our alumni: as an IIT Bombay graduate myself, I understand the pride and loyalty you feel for your alma mater. I continue to feel it too, in the energy of my students as I teach, in the serenity of our lush green campus as I walk through it, and in the remarkable transformation I see unfolding at our beloved alma mater. Now, in this new role, I am eager to listen, learn, and strengthen the bonds that unite us. Whether you are in India or across the globe, recently graduated or celebrating your golden jubilee, I hope to deepen our connections and create new avenues for interaction and impact.

I look forward to hearing your stories, exploring ideas together, and amplifying the role alumni can play in shaping the next chapter of IIT Bombay. Please consider this an open invitation to engage, collaborate, and share your thoughts with me and my team.

With warm regards,

Prof. Upendra V. Bhandarkar
