IIT Bombay Partners with Evergreen Lithium Recycling for Battery Mineral Recovery

IIT Bombay has signed a technology licensing agreement with Evergreen Lithium Recycling Private Limited to advance the extraction of critical battery minerals and improve battery recycling efficiency. Developed by Prof. Swatantra Pratap Singh and his team, the innovative membrane and electrochemical technology is expected to reduce processing costs by 30–40% while strengthening India’s capabilities in urban mining, resource recovery, and critical mineral security. The collaboration aligns with the nation’s growing focus on sustainable clean energy and localised battery supply chains.

IIT Bombay and Goldi Solar Collaborate on Renewable Energy Research

IIT Bombay has entered into a research collaboration agreement with Goldi Solar Private Limited to advance innovation in solar modules and renewable energy technologies. The partnership will focus on process optimisation, advanced metrology, defect analysis, and other collaborative research areas aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of solar energy solutions. The initiative is expected to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and contribute meaningfully to India’s clean energy mission.

IIT Bombay Collaborates with Bajaj Finserv to Strengthen Frontier Technologies

IIT Bombay signed an MoU with Bajaj Finserv to collaborate on research, innovation, talent development, and technology translation. The MoU was signed by Mr. Sanjiv Bajaj, Chairman and MD, Bajaj Finserv Limited, and Prof. S. V. Kulkarni, Dean R&D, IIT Bombay, in the presence of Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay, and other Institute dignitaries. As part of the collaboration, joint research opportunities will be explored in frontier technological areas such as AI, Cybersecurity, Quantum Computing, Retail Experience Centre Design, and more. The MoU will also facilitate talent acquisition by Bajaj Finserv Ltd. and its group companies, explore industry co-location opportunities on the IIT Bombay campus, and support educational outreach and capability-building initiatives.
