You know the truth: getting into IIT Bombay is the hardest battle. Our admission process ensures that only the sharpest minds in the country earn a seat. A student who conquered the JEE should be focused on conquering the greatest scientific challenges, not calculating their tuition bill.

At IIT Bombay, academic potential should be the only requirement for entry. We believe that the next world-changing idea shouldn’t be lost because of a financial barrier. This is exactly what our merit-cum-means scholarship program is designed to achieve regardless of gender.

To address this, we are proud to announce the WINGS Scholarships; operating alongside our merit-cum-means scholarships, WINGS is a vital safety net designed to ensure that every deserving women student receives support, expanding the coverage of women students under the scholarship program.

The WINGS initiative—anchored by Distinguished Alumnus Mr. Bharat Desai and his wife Mrs. Neerja Sethi specifically aims to provide a scholarship to every girl who needs a scholarship.

This dedicated program shall waive 100% of tuition fees specifically for women undergraduate students.

We recognise that a tuition waiver may not dismantle deep-seated social barriers, but it removes the easiest excuse for them. It strips away the financial “risk” of educating a daughter, reframing her degree from a family liability into a prestigious asset. It gives parents the economic justification to choose their daughter’s potential over traditional expectations.

By running the WINGS Initiative alongside our existing merit-cum-means programs, we continue to bridge the economic gap while simultaneously dismantling gender barriers.
