MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN

Welcome to the third edition of Converge, IIT Bombay’s CSR Newsletter.

At IIT Bombay, we believe meaningful partnerships are rooted in translating research into real-world impact, ensuring that knowledge generated on campus advances national priorities in innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth in service of an Atmanirbhar Bharat. Through this newsletter, I am also pleased to share SWIFT CSR, an initiative of IIT Bombay that is designed to enable the swift deployment of CSR funds within the same financial year, towards high-impact national priorities.

The outcomes of these collaborations are already taking shape across campus and beyond. These include strategic partnerships, including FedEx, which is advancing logistics research; the Alkem Foundation, accelerating innovation in immuno-therapeutics; and the Groww Foundation, enabling early-stage student entrepreneurs to translate ideas into real-world solutions. At the same time, our trailblazing initiatives are addressing some of today’s most pressing challenges, including Panchkosha Wellbeing, which expands access to holistic digital wellbeing, while Project PAANI advances sustainable materials by transforming cassava waste into affordable, biodegradable alternatives to conventional plastics.

A defining highlight of this edition is BharatGen, an ambitious, faculty-led initiative that exemplifies IIT Bombay’s role in powering India’s AI revolution. By anchoring advanced research, national-scale infrastructure, and talent development, BharatGen demonstrates how academic leadership can shape transformative technologies with purpose, responsibility, and long-term national impact. This reflects the depth of innovation underway at IIT Bombay and presents a strong opportunity for corporates to collaborate with the Institute through their CSR commitments.

We look forward to deepening these collaborations as we move beyond compliance to co-create solutions that can shape the next chapter of India’s growth and global leadership. Our Corporate Connect team remains closely engaged and is always available to support conversations, clarify opportunities, and help partners navigate pathways for meaningful collaboration.

Warmly,
