IIT Bombay signed three MoUs with the Government of Maharashtra during the India Maritime Week 2025 (IMW 2025), to establish:

– R&D infrastructure for Ship Design and Ship Building at IIT Bombay.
– Centre of Excellence (CoE) at IIT Bombay for Capacity Building and training of manpower for Ship Design and Ship Building (SDB) industry in India.
– e-Postgraduate Diploma (e-PGD) programme for Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) Engineers.

The MoUs were signed in the presence of Shri Devendra Fadnavis, the Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and several dignitaries. Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay, and other key functionaries represented the Institute.
