IIT Bombay alumnus, Mr. Kshitij Jayakrishnan (B.Tech. + M.Tech., Dual Degree, Chemical Engineering, 2016), has joined QED Investors as Principal, strengthening the venture capital firm’s presence across India, Southeast Asia, and the broader APAC region. In his new role, Mr. Jayakrishnan will lead early and growth-stage fintech investments, applying his decade-long expertise to support ambitious founders and transformative companies shaping the future of financial services in Asia.

Before joining QED, Mr. Kshitij was a key member of Elevation Capital’s leadership team, driving fintech and gaming investments across India. He led over 20 notable deals, helped define the firm’s approach to India’s rapidly evolving fintech ecosystem, and produced influential market theses and insights. His career also includes advisory roles at Bain & Company, serving private equity, automotive, and financial services clients.

Mitesh Khapra: IIT Bombay Alumnus among TIME’s 100 Most Influential in AI

IIT Bombay alumnus, Prof. Mitesh Khapra (Ph.D., Computer Science and Engineering, 2011), has been named to TIME’s prestigious list of the 100 most influential people in artificial intelligence. This recognition places him in the same league as global tech leaders such as Mr. Sam Altman, Mr. Elon Musk, and Mr. Mark Zuckerberg, and is a testament to the far-reaching impact of his work.

Currently an Associate Professor at IIT Madras, Prof. Khapra co-founded AI4Bharat, a research lab dedicated to making AI accessible to India’s millions of non-English speakers. Under his leadership, the team has built one of the largest open-source collections of datasets and tools spanning all 22 official Indian languages, powering applications from grassroots services to the Supreme Court of India.
