SPECIAL REPORT: Teacher’s Day – IIT Bombay Celebrates Teacher’s Day, Honours its Teachers and Students

IIT Bombay celebrated Teacher’s Day on campus by commemorating the birth anniversary of noted philosopher, educationist, and statesman, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. The Chief Guest at the occasion was Shri Shashi Shekhar Vempati, Co-Founder DeepTech for Bharat Foundation (AI4India.org), formerly CEO, Prasar Bharati (India’s Public Broadcaster).

The celebrations began with a welcome address by Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay. This was followed by the presentation of several prestigious teaching awards, including the Professor S.P. Sukhatme Awards for Excellence in Teaching and the Excellence in Academics Awards.

The Chief Guest, Shri Vempati, conferred the Professor S.P. Sukhatme Award for Excellence in Teaching to select faculty members in recognition of their contributions to the teaching activities of the Institute. The Awardees include:

Another key highlight of the event was the celebration of academic brilliance, as 92 of IIT Bombay’s top-performing students were felicitated by Prof. Kedare for their exceptional achievements.
