MESSAGE FROM DEAN

“It is my privilege to step into the role of Dean of Alumni and Corporate Relations at IIT Bombay, and to connect with you through the second edition of Converge, our CSR Newsletter. This platform offers a curated view of how the Institute’s partnerships with industry are fuelling technology for nation-building, empowering students, and driving societal progress.

 

I am delighted that in the first financial quarter (April–June 2025), the Institute signed 16 MoUs with our corporate partners, supporting initiatives that directly benefit IIT Bombay and its extended community. Of these resources, 50% supported student programmes (awards, scholarships, and events), 12% went to lab upgrades and state-of-the-art equipment, and 37% to R&D and infrastructure development.

 

Building on this momentum, I want to acknowledge the pivotal role of our CSR partners in cementing corporate support for nation-building over this past year. Some of our notable collaborations include the Motilal Oswal Foundation for Knowledge Centre and innovation enablement, the ICICI Foundation for the IITB-ICICI BETIC Hub, as well as initiatives with ABB India, Adani Enterprises, Autodesk, Indus Towers, Tata Consulting Engineers, Waaree Energies, and many more. These partnerships exemplify how strategically aligned CSR strengthens research by enabling the ecosystem and fostering student development. Together, they create a culture of innovation and societal contribution that reflects IIT Bombay’s values and vision, and advance the Institute’s commitment to delivering technological solutions for national progress.

 

With the continued partnership of our CSR collaborators, we look forward to building even stronger initiatives, nurturing the next generation of innovators, and advancing solutions that shape the future of our nation.
