Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay, has been elected as the Chair of the SATU (Southeast and South Asia and Taiwan Universities) Presidents’ Forum. His election took place at the 2025 General Assembly, held at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan, in March 2025.
The prestigious event brought together Presidents and representatives from 65 universities across eight countries, and focused on key themes of sustainability, digital transformation, and cultural heritage preservation under the banner of “Sustainable Governance for Universities.”
Prof. Kedare, along with Prof. Sudarshan Kumar, Dean (International Relations), represented IIT Bombay and reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to driving global academic collaborations, research innovation, and excellence in higher education. As Chair of SATU, Prof. Kedare will play a pivotal role in strengthening the forum’s global impact, fostering new partnerships, and enhancing collaboration among member institutions.
Prof. Kedare’s leadership at IIT Bombay has already set a strong foundation for international engagement, and this new role further amplifies the Institute’s influence on the global academic stage. With a vision for deeper cooperation and transformative education, Prof. Kedare continues to steer IIT Bombay towards greater international prominence.
