Mr. Mahesh Kumar Navani is currently the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at eClinicalWorks.
After receiving his MS in Chemistry from IIT Bombay in 1987, he followed that up with an MS in Manufacturing Engineering from Boston University and an MS in Finance from Boston College. This multidisciplinary education has been pivotal in shaping his career in healthcare IT, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy.
Mr. Navani began his illustrious career by serving as an Operations Manager at Hendrick Manufacturing for three years, gaining valuable experience in process optimization, inventory management, and accounting. Following this, he worked briefly as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Parametric Technology, honing his skills in software testing and quality assurance. He then joined Jennison Associates, an investment management firm, as a Software Developer, where he developed their portfolio and risk management software, providing deep insights into financial systems and investment strategies.
In 1999, leveraging his diverse experience in operations, software development, and finance, he co-founded eClinicalWorks, a leading healthcare IT solutions provider. As the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, he has been instrumental in guiding the company’s growth and innovation in the healthcare technology sector. Their electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare analytics solutions are utilized by thousands of physicians, enhancing patient care and healthcare management. Beyond his professional endeavours he is deeply committed to philanthropy, focusing on education, healthcare, and rural development in India. As Vice Chair of Ekal Vidyalaya USA, he supports Integrated Village Development (IVD) to foster self sustaining rural communities. Through the Janki Foundation, established in 2018, he has partnered with organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Boston Children’s Hospital, Doctors Without Borders, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Feeding America, Worcester County Food Bank, and Abby’s House to enhance children’s services, education, and medical care.
Mr. Navani is also involved with other NGOs, with key initiatives including
– Education: Sponsoring engineering scholarships for underprivileged students.
– Healthcare: Funding programs for anaemia reduction, adolescent mental health, and assistive devices for the visually impaired.
– Livelihoods: Backing vocational training centres to generate rural employment.
– Nutrition: Supporting kitchen projects in Danapur, Bihar, to provide nutritious mid-day meals to school children.
– Climate and Sustainability: Installed solar-powered cold storage project in Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh, to reduce post-harvest losses.
Mr. Navani was recognized for his contributions to rural development by the Ekal Vidyalaya USA.
