IIT Bombay Alumni Launch Innovative Course on Management of Chemical Projects

IIT Bombay is proud to announce the introduction of a groundbreaking course designed and structured by four esteemed alumni from the Chemical Engineering class of 1971:

–  Mr. Rajeev Pandia
–  Mr. Kanu Fatnani
–  Mr. Rajaram Krishnaswami
–  Mr. Pradeep Jaipuria

This new course, titled CL6001, focuses on the Management of Chemical Projects and will be offered as part of the curriculum for both undergraduate and postgraduate students in Chemical Engineering.

During a recent meeting, the alumni shared their vision for the course, which aims to integrate core principles of Chemical Engineering with essential management practices. Through the use of real-life case studies, the course is designed to prepare students for promising career tracks in the field.

CL6001 is structured into four comprehensive modules:

–  Strategy: Identification, development, and evaluation of chemical projects
–  R&D, Scale-Up, Basic and Detailed Engineering
–  Procurement, Construction, and Project Management
–  Commissioning and Market Entry

The alumni expressed their belief that this is the first course of its kind being offered in India and are optimistic about its potential to significantly impact the careers of participating students.

They are deeply gratified at the valuable support they have received from IIT Bombay faculty members, Professor Madhu Vinjamur and Professor Sanjay Mahajani, who will co-teach the course alongside the alumni.
